AirDoctor requires little maintenance. The only filter that should be cleaned is the pre-filter. The pre-filter is the first one you see when you open the AirDoctor's filter cover(s).* We recommend that you vacuum it every couple of months to keep the air coming from your AirDoctor fresh and to extend the lives of the carbon and Ultra HEPA filters.
The carbon and Ultra HEPA filters should not be cleaned but replaced. Based on homes with average air quality and 24/7 use, filter replacement time for each of our 3 models is as follows:
- AD1000
Filter Set - 6 months
- AD3000
Ultra HEPA - 12 months
Carbon/Gas Trap/VOC - 6 months
- AD5000
(2) Ultra HEPA - 12 months
(2) Carbon/Gas Trap/VOC - 6 months
*In the 1000 model the pre-filter is attached to the Ultra HEPA filter and cannot be removed.
* In the 3000 model the pre-filter is attached to the carbon filter.
